Class: Advising, motivating and guiding Ida and her daughter in using welfare technology

In this learning material students must advise, motivate and guide the client. Making a welfare technology plan for a client in a multiprofessional team. 

Goals: Providing care at a distance, motivate and guide the client and staff and have the ability to critical thinking. Task 1: Ida often feels lonely and bored and is wondering with her daughter how to stay in contact with her relatives. The phone is hard to use because it’s too small and when you get older many things are harder to do. They came up with an idea to get them an Ipad and a service that helps them. The daughter calls home care and asks the following questions. Ida also wants to ask some things too. Find out the answers to following questions: • Where Ida can purchase the device and the service? • How much does it cost? • Can the town help to purchase the device and the service? Task 2: The daughter calls home care and tells that they managed to get the Ipad but now need help using it. Find out the answers to following questions (concentrate especially to Ida´s needs): • What can be done with Ipad? What does it help with? • Where the Ipad can be used? • Is it easy to use? • How to update it? • What if there occurs problems with the device? How to fix that? Task 3: The daughter calls to home care and tells that Ida doesn’t use the device or charge it because she is very precise with electronic devices. Find out the answer to following question: • How to motivate Ida to use the device?
